Default RE: Tire Wobble driving me insane

ORIGINAL: guver

The tolerances on these little cars are wide compared to precision vehicles like cars/trucks that we ride in.
Very true. I work in the automotive field as a service technician(glorified name for a mechanic). With many parts on a 1:1 car(whether it be ball joints, wheel bearings, etc), if you can feel any play in them, they are beyond specification and need to be replaced. These parts are designed to have next to no play whatsoever. Wheel bearings have pre-loads applied and ball joints are filled with plastic to take up any play and to act as a bushing.

Joecool73, there are two possible causes for your wheel wobble.
1.the bearings have a lot of play inside them. In this case, you would want to find higher quality bearings.
2.there is play either between the bearing and axle or between the bearing and steering knuckle. You would have to find which part is responsible for the play and replace it with a higher precision part.

Some of it could also be between the steering knuckle and c hub.
