Default C-101 Aviojet, not a build Thread!

Really, this is not a C-101 Aviojet build.

I don't know what it is? What I do know, is I have more fun with my models, AND, I progress more quickly with them, when I Post my activity on RCU.

Anyone else experience this phenomenon? Yes, I thought so, quite common.

So, with this said, I've become active "again" with my scratch built C-101 Aviojet.

For those that don't know, here's the "back story." I've actually told it before, but briefly.

Well over 25 years ago, I fell in love with the C-101 Aviojet, There's another Jet I fell in love with also, but that's another Thread, one Jet Thread, at a time.

Gotta remember, back then there were no C-101 Aviojet ARF's or kits. Plans? I don't think so. None that I knew about anyway.

I've always designed and scratch built most of my models; many have seen photos of my unfinished models in my Crib.

Anyway, to the drawing board I went. Unfortunately, I designed the thing around a Rossi 61 FIRE RE with a pipe. NO, not DF, PROP!

Photo will show the original fuselage set up for the Rossi. Well, I continued along this bad track and intermittenly worked on the model from time to time.

Actually, little time from time. I did however, manage to sheet the foam wings, sheet the foam stab and sheet the foam vert stab/rudder. I also managed to build a "scale in appearence" SIA, cockpit. Remember, I coined that SIA thing.

So, fast forward. Many repeated drawings, and many changes. The biggest change was the removal of the PROP driven ROSSI. Remember threads on this?

So, here I am with the "NEW" EDF, C-101 Aviojet.

Well, not yet but I hope to.

As you will see, removing the Rossi, has allowed for greater scale outline. I can now slide the wing and intakes back aft where they belong. I can also decrease the wing area and span to scale measurements, as well as relocate the gear to the correct scale location. Not to leave out plenty of other stuff.

I've Posted photos before and I gotta tell ya, as you well know, I'm sure, the model never really received much attention. Understandable, because it really didn't look good, with the Rossi and prop and all. Plus, it had the appearance of juvenile construction and shoddy workmanship.

Hey, photos can be misleading. Especially mine!

Well, I really haven't done much more at all, except remove the Rossi, reframe the nose to scale standards, and relocate the intakes.

The photos are of this model, with those small changes. Yes, everything is tapped together just for the photo shoot.

There's a few "before" photos.

Well, here's plenty of photos, I hope it looks a bit different and is more interesting.

Does look like the C-101 Aviojet.
