Had the same problem with my MVVS 35...every time it had been bone-dry for a few months at a time, it was a problem until I got some gas through the carb.

I had to force fuel into the carb line either by blowing into the tank vent, og hooking up the fuel pump directly to the fuel line, while turning the engne over with full choke until it was dripping out of the carb. Mine liked to be started wet.

Once this was done it would run great, and no start problems anymore.
