Thanks to Bill I now try to keep the C&H legacy alive,a legacy built over 30 years,The units I am buildingare under his license with same quality as many of you have had over the years. It is allways a chalange to make it performant, smaller and cost effective.
For now this is the smaller size I was able to come up with.Most ignitions madeare failing due to the packing issues and I do not want to give any brand names, let's not forget the fact that you have ...electricity going trough and this biuld up heat, heat must to dissipate some where, it gets trough board, components, box. A big role is the quality of the components, as you many know ...the data sheet say 150 degree celsius , is this true, theoretically yes, but some times maybe they are made on...Friday .
Components are all geniune C&H and each unit is tuned for best performance and less battery curent draw. I got them to 300-400mA, at 10000 RPM's, each is...custom made and not industrial made and offer the possibility to be repaired in case of those "Friday" components, unlikly ...but possible and we all know that. I usually keep the unit running for 24hr at the max rated voltage.
Like Bill said... people look for cheap stuff $29 ....will not be able to do that. It is a open market and prices arefor every one acording with the budget. It was that ols say "drive a YUGO or a Mercedes"
Keep in mind also one thing....you put so much time, passionand moneyto build your plane and when it comes to the HEART of it, Radio,Servos,Engine choice...try to cheat and cut some cost and many times...all that passion, dedication goes to the "ground" how sad is that and only then you thing... I should got this or that.
