On my spinners, I used 1/8th trim tape or 1/16 to get the outline and continued it with blue masking tape.

I am a little ahead of you though as my D9 has around 10 flights on it. Regardless, it would be cool to get them together.
while I do love this Pica D9, If I were to build another one, I would do some serious mods to update the design. I would eliminate the maple rail engin mounts and the box fuel tank area. Also, I would build up the fin to make it more sale. The sheet fin just does not look right with it's transition into the fuse. I think this is an area where the Top flite kit was a little closer.
How was the Skyshark kit? They had mentioned they may make some of thier kits avasilable for short runs. Kinda wish I would have snagged one up. They were kind of expensive though.
I hear ya with the larger scale. More options available.
Looking forward to the reports on the ESM 50cc. You seem to be the only one close to a maiden. I am sure it will fly well.
