RE: Pica FW 190 D
I discovered my engine problem tonight. I traced it back to an intermittent connection in my ignition battery. Now let me just say this took some extensive chasing to find, but once I did, all was well. Being relatively new to gassers, (5 years) I have to say that the batteries on these electronic ignitions cannot be overlooked. To be honest, I wish I had a mag on all of my gassers, but that is just not practical.
All seems right with the world now though, hopefully will get in some flights on Wednesday.
Also Ram, If you have nothing else to do for those 3 weeks it might happen. There is a lot of work to do on this plane. I would never try to discourage anyone, but that is a short lead time. Not sure on which engine you had in mind, but this DLE 20 is ideal. It will take extensive modifications from stock, but this will be much easier during the initial build than as a retrofit later.
