Default SOLVED: Throttle problems

NOW SOLVED, SEE POST BELOW.

I'll give a little background to my situation. I have a Twister CP Gold, I was bought this helicopter for Christmas 3 years ago, It has only been flown a few times and the speed controller melted/smoked on the second flight, I had that replaced under the warranty and due to moving house around that time the heli has been boxed for around 20 months.

I got the battery's charged and the heli needed a little rudder servo adjustment and seemed to be flying fine just hovering around for a few mins then lost all power, to the point that the blades won't spin at all and then throttle movement actually gives aileron movement.

I thought the battery's could be scrap as they've sat for so long unused, Got new battery's yesterday and the same problem exists.

So to sum up:

- First flight after the storage seemed ok for two minutes until I lost power.
- After loosing power, Throttle movement now moves the aileron.
- If I spin the blades by hand it will eventually get the throttle working correctly but it doesn't even have enough power to lift at all at full throttle.

I have ordered a new speed controller and it arrived this morning but didn't fix the problem.

Out of interest I plugged my TX into my PC on clearview simulator and it does work although there is a slight jitter in all channels, not sure if that is a compatibility issue between my TX and the simulator as I've never used this TX on a simulator.

I'm now thinking my receiver is the problem.

Any second opinions on this guys?Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Jamie
