so did you get your's from Value Hobby? It's a nice price, at only $129 or so delivered. I might just pick up a spare for when I make a fatal mistake. Given the wierdness of the Chinese suppliers, this plane might suddenly vanish.
Yes, Alex was fast with my order and he said he has a few in stock. If you get one you will know what I mean when I say the first version is better. I think that it might be a little more than my opinion on this one.
Right now I've assembled the rudder and elevator. Most of the plane is done, I just have to install the motor, glow tank, throttle servo, push rods, cut the cowl and a few other things. I'm very pleased with the quality so far.
I used Balsa-rite on all the wood to waterproof and to seal the wood from any fuel that might want to try to get under the covering.
I just took a bunch pictures so you know what I mean when I say good quality. Notice no gap on the wing saddle? I only have a small gap in the front and wing seat tape will seal it nicely. Rudder is not thick and heavy. Vertical Stabilizer is solid balsa.
The Neptune bones you see is my next winter project. That's the one I'm going to put retracts in and give it U.S. Navy or Kriegsmarine look to it. I crashed it last Spring when I had a "Deadstick" and had to land down wind. I broke the wing joiner and part of the balsa skin and leading edge, but it will be a easy repair and rebuild.
