Default Saito 100 no resolution

Yard-Dart,

I sent mine back to Horizon and it was returned to me with a note that they adjusted the low speed idle, huh? I said it had a high speed vibration and what did the low speed mixture have to do with that. I felt insulted by the response from Horizon Hobby's technical department. I first decided to go to this forum and see if it is a problem with this particular engine. And it appears to be spartic so far. I am still flying the engine and now after about ten flights on it there is a lot of black trail coming from the front bearing area. It appears that the only way to resolve the problem is to hope the engine destroys itself before the warranty perios runs out. I sure hope you have better luck with Horizon than I did if you send it in. I have purchased a YS 110 FZ as a replacement for this engine. I won't be buying nor will I recomend that any of my friends buy a Saito in the future. Right now I own eight of thier engines from two Saito 40's to Saito 180's and this 100 is my last.

Sincerely yours,
Leslie H. Howell
