Default Need help with SD10G Throttle Control

I'm trying to set up my radio to have a low idle RPM (electric outrunner). I'm finding I have to start the motor spinning, then decrease throttle to find a low idle - can't get there just by slowly increasing throttle from stop (either by using stick or trim). If I find a low idle then stop the motor, have to go through process of starting and decreasing throttle to get back to the nice low RPM idle.

I tried playing with trim steps, throttle curve, etc. Motor seems to come on at -87%, then can adjust down to -91% for nice idle.

Why doesn't the motor start when I increase from -100% to -91%? Am I missing something?

Thanks for reading =)
