See if you can find a local club, and get a flight or two on the club trainer - you will get a lot of feedback from just that exposure, and it will help answer your questions in a "hands on" way. Talking about it, reading about it, that's a whole different story than when you get your hands on it and see for yourself. You won't be out anything if you go there and just see what is available, and how everything is being used. You already have a very good idea of how it all should work, you just are looking at which way to go to begin. Someone there may also have something available to start with that they will sell inexpensively, so you could end up saving hundreds of dollars to begin with there. Good luck.
