have owned both, flew the xl with a p-160 jetcat it flew nice for someone that wants a easy flying big jet, the elan had a ram 1000 and this thing was a hot rod but never lost its slow flying ability, i would buy the elan if you are looking for a crisp flying jet and its easyer to transport, hope this helped.
