Using google, find and install Mozilla Firefox as your internet browser. Then find Ad Block plus, and download and install it. Then quit using Internet Explorer!!! I don't see pop-ups of any kind, or any other flashing ads or banners any more. It's an incredibly effective combination if you are really serious about eliminating that kind of crap.
