Skotter, yes we use timers. They count the laps and time each pilot. We have seven workers to run the race. 4 lap counters who also time there pilot. 2 cut judges, one at each pylon. And a starter. This is the minimum. Sometimes, when we don’t have enough workers, we have pilots that are not racing in the heat to do some timing duties.
Ted, I just got a new pair of 3-D glasses so I can see the pylons better. Been practicing with them on all week and boy do they make a difference. I’ve been clearing the pylons by ½ to ¾ of an inch. I hope the Alvin cut judges have good eyesight. In fact I’ve been flying such a tight course I’ll be using my SLOWEST engine.
