Transmitter stick question
I just took off flying my SPAD mig-7 today and after taking off, I heard something "Pop" and the right transmitter stick felt different. My initial thought was the stick had either broken or was coming out of the transmitter. After quickly landing, what had happened was that the spring that controls the right side aileron function of the stick had broken. So the stick would not return to the neutral setting if released. The left side aileron was still attached. Since I always keep my thumb on the sticks, this did not present a problem, but aileron turns were eventful.
My question is, is it possible to take front off the transmitter and replace the spring myself. The transmitter is a Futaba 7 CAP. Has anyone else done this and if so can you shed some insight on the procedure for replacing the spring ? Hate to send the transmitter to be serviced, don't want to miss the flying days !!!
Thanks for your help
