Putt, you should have listened about the corn starch. Just using alky will thin the oil and let it soak further into the wood. The corn starch wicks it back out by capillary action and the alky/corn starch mud ensures the starch is in close contact to the wood to acomplish this.

I doubt your fix will be permanent but it's too late now. There's still oil in there and more will probably get in shortly because the CA is trying to bond to oil but with any luck it'll take 60 to 80 flights to cause any problems.
