Over six months ago our club held a flying day demonstration that was attended by over 300 spectators. We had a large static display, flew different types of models with narration and gave anyone who wanted, time on a buddy box. A great event and a lot of fun.

Photos and a write up were sent to AMA and the district VP....nothing. Not even a thanks, kiss my a@@, nothing.

We just completed a big indoor display at the county fair. The fair board contacted us because of the previous demo day as the fair theme was "Just Plane Fun!" with airplanes in their logo. The display was manned to answer questions and we had hundreds of folks and kids stop by...and maybe picked up a few new members. The fair manager already invited us back for next year as he said our display was one of the favorites there.

AMA does a lot of pontificating and pressuring members to do more promoting of model aviation. But if they aren't personally involved, and you aren't located in the midwest or east, you won't hear about it.
