That's good news. I can vouch for the fact that the .15 makes a very solid and reliable, diesel engine. So does the .40 in fact, and making it a .46 is a bonus. One thing I can say, those cranks will not break in the normal course of events. If you've never seen the cranks out of the larger sizes, you'll be amazed. Huge counterbalances, large diameter at the shaft portion and round corners in the crank port.
I ran the .15 originally, without a muffler, and it wasn't loud in the usual sense. Just a healthy growl. It was always fun to run and hear it go. Also, when fully broken in and with little to no pinch at the top, it was a one to two flip starter. Later versions not so much, your mileage may vary.
Alex,,, you must admit that the flaws in the first batch are damn serious. This is an entirely new universe with virtually instant communication. You can't blame anyone for trying to give a heads up to problems. This in turn keeps vendors and manufacturers on their toes. Yes, mistakes and problems can occur but it's the response to customer issues that tells the tale.
And of course there is one aspect of a Norvel diesel that I'm concerned about but I'll not stir the pot anymore than to say that there's an easy enough fix,,, IF it becomes an issue.
In any case, here's a run of the .15 with a head made from a threaded blank.
