Default RE: AVOID Nitroplanes!!!!!!!!!

Gumbie, give me a break. Desert Aircraft sells their quality engines at a fair price. Of course the people at Desert Aircraft want to get paid a fair wage. I.E. more than $5000 a year that the low end Chinese worker gets. You know if all those terrible USA workers would just work for those wages everything would be cheap. Just one problem. We then couldn't afford even the 'cheap' stuff. Of course the 'jobs makers' could provide us with jobs such as mowing their mansions 100 acres lawns, cleaning their gold plated toilets, washing the windows of one of their $500 million yachts. If only the American workers would get over this American dream thing.

Well, you would not believe the number of planes I have ready to fly and that means lots of batteries.

At first I thought the Rhinos were going to be great but as time has gone on the Rhinos while being two years newer than the Thunderpower and Powerquest batteries have started puffing. My first Powerquests and Thunderpowers slowly started going down in capacity but never started puffing.

A great number of people will tell you how great the batteries are after only have 10 or so flights. Come back after three years and tell me how long they lasted. BTW I do use 80 percent as the no fly minimum.

I have a BIG fire safe box with lots of Turnigys and Rhinos. You can smell that the batteries are leaking acid fumes. I moved my Thunderpowers over to another fire safe box and there is no acid smell. The Chinese are NOT doing a good job of sealing the batteries. I and friends have had a number of Rhinos and Turnigys come in with bad or dead cells.

This does not mean I do not try the batteries but for long term right now I believe the Thunderpower batteries are the best and that you will get the full number of flights.

However, I too have been buying the Turnigy Nanos. I sure hope they last at least as long as the older Thunderpower batteries did and that the ads about them are not just advertising hype.

Nitro Models stop the scam!
