RE: Practice Tank Field!!!
Lordy...
I've tried for decades to get my relatives to show ~some~ interest in my R/C hobby. Only two that really helped were my dad, and that was mainly because it was 'electronics'... and his sister, my lone aunt on dad's side of the family, and she got me a Cox .049 string-control which got started ~once~ and ~never~ flew 'cause the glo-fuel ate the plastic fuselage. And sadly, she was the first of the relatives to pass on from the Big C.
Oldest nephew never showed much interest 'cept in one of my 1/16 LAV's two years ago, and only then 'cause it was fast and maneuverable. Middle nephew is a economics/stocks geek... the youngest is under two neices w/ atistic tendancies, but loves building stuff - Lego, K'nex, you name it. When he's a bit older, I'm gonna see if he is interested in models, and then try for the R/C's. My sis might rag me for spoiling him, but Mom can spoil the girls, spoiling the lad is ~my~ job, and his oldest bro's if I can get him to chip in (HAH!)
As for space... I have an idea, but I've yet to talk to the possible contact before I can even see if its possible. It might mean some publicity up here to that could lead to other contacts... if we do it right. I'll let all you guys know ~if~ things look good.
And Tetris... your place is certainly closer than Ft. Erie... even if its smaller. Mebbe a Friday evening 'test' at your place, then on to Erie in the morning, eh?
