Hey Zipp,
A Four Star would be a great transition plane from the Kadet Senior... I don't know how the Fun 51 builds but I do know the T/F kits are great and I have a Four Star 120 that will be a great build too. I'm with Tom Crump for supporting SIG.
BTW... I received this e-mail from Sig A few days ago:
Dear Modeler,
In February 2011 SIG Manufacturing Co., Inc. was purchased by Herb Rizzo (President), David Martin (VP and General Manager), and Ron Petterec (VP). All three gentlemen are successful businessmen and lifelong modelers providing the ideal base for SIG to continue offering quality and value to model airplane pilots around the world.
With the new ownership SIG's stock levels have improved daily, e.g. kits, balsa wood, basswood, dope paint, fuel products, hardware are in stock. FYI, attached is our advertisement in the December issues of 'Fly RC' and 'Model Airplane News' (both on sale Oct. 4, 2011).
The new versions of the Kadet Senior EG ARF, Kadet LT-40 EG ARF, Rascal 110 ARF will be available in November/December; more ARF's to come in 2012. Our web site will be updated upon availability.
On October 22-23 come see us at the iHobby Expo* (
www.ihobbyexpo.com):
Booth No. 1924

Keep on flying SIG! We appreciate it.
Best regards from Iowa,

They have some great kits and ARFs, plus I think it's great to support our US companies.
Build well,
Ben
