Of course that overlooks the fact that except for companies like DA and Syssa, everything you buy is Asian made ANYWAY.

Even with what few companies do manufacture here, they outsource some of the fabrication, circuit boards and components.


That said, I'd rather spend an extra $100.00 on a DA or Syssa engine, as I have done on occasion.

The problem is when the markup is far too high, then I'll take LDM's approach.... though I do not recommend it for newbies.
