I live in Texas as well in Houston and I have to turn up my voltage over 2 as well to get them to start. I think mine is 2.1

I have 2 in a Yellow F 18 and they run great now. They seem to have a personality depending on were you live. I know most people look at us and say that is not possible to need to turn them up that high to run. The simple fact is that you do in Texas. I have thousands of turbine flights and have been running engines from Golden West to Amt manual start to Jetcat and others. I use McCoy # 9 and they seem to do better then what you discribe. I may try some very hot plugs and see if that will allow for lower voltage at start. Good luck with yours.
