But you can mix brands and models, just not on the same controls as CG mentioned. I may have two JRs on my elevators two Hitec on my ailerons and a Futaba on my rudder then some odd ball on the throttle. I have that Futaba that Mike showed you in my shop right now. A friend loaned it to me while my radio is in the shop. It's a very nice radio and a pretty good deal.
