Default RE: KingTech K-80

I flew my K80F for the first time yesterday. Airframe is a ShokJet weighting in around 18 lbs wet. The K80 was flawless, it started every time and ran perfectly. Here is a link to the video of the second flight if anyone is interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3wt4SWv51E . The only question I have about the engine is the strange sounds it makes during start up (my friends Jet Central Rabbit does not make these noises, but his is not kero start so that could be the difference). Also, the very first time I started this turbine I did not get flames coming out the tail like you see in the video. I'm thinking that a little fuel is dripping into the turbine after shutdown? I do have a festo fuel cutoff switch between the pump and the fuel lines into the turbine, which I am very conscience about turning off as soon as it shuts down. Other than that the engine runs great and makes good thrust. I wish the acceleration was a little better, I'm going to try turning the Acceleration Delay down to 3 (it's currently at 7) and see how she does. I don't think the acceleration is abnormally slow given the comments from the other turbine guys that were present, but I did read somewhere on this forum that for mild temperatures I should be able to reduce the accel delay down to 3 with no problems, we'll see.

Regards,

Tom
