I am thinking 30 lb turbine to keep a 1 to 1 ratio. I know the planes can fly with less than 1:1 but I also always thought that anything lower than .5 thrust to weight was pushing it.

you don't have to have 1-1 thrust to fly, we flew lots of ducted fans in the days that were way less then that. search RCU for Don W. Shanks screen name shanksow, i think he had one of these and he might can help with info on this bird.
