Default Sterling 48" Chris Craft Corvette Drive Hardware

I have a couple of Dumas 48 inch PT boats that I have powered with two Astro Flight 25 marine motors. The boats weigh 23 pounds and their performance is excellent. I am about to start a Sterling 48 inch Chris Craft Corvette and it will be powered by the newer marine 25s that Astro Flight makes. The PT boats use 3/16 shafts and hardware and I would like to change to the Mack Products 1/8 inch shafts. The Corvette hulls will be planked on the bottom with spruce or basswood stripping and the sides will be reinforced with five ounce cloth. It should weigh as much as the PT boats. I have two questions:

1. Is the 1/8 inch propeller shaft and hardware adequate for this type of boat?
2. The Mack products do not have any oil tubes in the stuffing box. How is the inside oillite bearing oiled?
