I agree completely. I am still considering buying an inexpensive router/laser cutting solution so I can play with different wing ideas. You can build a built-up wing much stiffer than a foam wing with a lot more 'options' available in planform and construction.
I own a CNC machine (small one) and believe me, there is no 'inexpensive router/laser' solution. Talk about a money pit!!!
