Gene is correct about those little socket headed servo screws. Use them for everything. When I get down to 30 or 40 of them, it's panic time.
I have turned on my local friends here in the old folks home onto them too, that's why I had to order so many of them this year. Our hands tend to shake now days and a screw driver has become something that we use to poke holes in the wood and covering with. I do have a local hardware store, McFadendales that has a lot of hardware I can use for models. Good stuff but all real high grade stuff. I don't require grade 10 2-56 and 4-40 hex screws. I bought a small mixed bag one day and it cost almost $20.00. I think a bag of 100 4-40s at Micro is under $7.00. I do buy a lot of stuff at my local hardware store but bigger items for engine mounting or wing mounting. Blind nuts I get from DuBro. The ones I get at the hardware store are made in China and soft. The prongs tend to bend and not stick into the wood and they strip.
I have a building box stocked full of hardware. Like Max, if it gets low I start making phone clls to let friends know I'm making an order to Micro.
