It should fit diagonally between the rails on the bed. I can fit one in the trunk of a Taurus. Tip-clipped ailerons help that along as well.

I switched to a minivan and love it. I can carry five profiles (2x60 size and 3x40 size) or three and enough gear to last a week at an event.

Removable wings on a 40 size are just not a great idea. Weaker and heavier.
Build it wings on and change the vehicle as necessary. Got to get your priorities straight.
