Not as good as Dave's, for sure, but it seems the gap is getting much narrower. When you flew my Sickle with the Himax motor and the Zippy batteries it seemed more than adequate for Masters level and maybe beyond, in the right hands... not mine.

I don't know if it is an entirely apt analogy, but as a photographer I remember well the transition from silver halide film to digital. The "resistance curve" has a very similar feel to it, even though at the time very few of would have imagined how quickly Nikon and Canon would completely abandon film. (Nikon still makes the FM-10 purely as a favor to the few bitter-enders.)
