Default RE: RealFLight 6 and Expansion Packs?

I finally got an answer to how to do it and will post it here.
My point to all this is that the average consumer would never figure this out and that knife edge needs to pack an insert, or make the answer to this more available.
Come on, how many of us that upgraded have expansion packs?
I will post the Q and A I had to finally figure out how to do it.
It isn't easy.
Problem is that it also doesn't ask for the serial numbers again which we are used to.

Q.That is great. Thanks for the response.
Now what about the installation of the expansion packs?
They don't install properly.
Any tips on how to have these install?
Thanks.

A.Insert the RF6 disk first and run it through take it out and install the expansion packs. We have discovered that RF6 installer does not detect the expansion packs you have to reinstall it.

Q.When I reinstall them, I get errors.
Can't find the directory ( I know how to point it there)
Then can't run what is needed to put in the serial numbers.

A.It cannot find the directory because RF6 is not seeing them so you have to insert RF6 first so that it can fix the installer and then install expansion packs.

Q.So sorry to sound lost in this, but as it is right now I have RF6 installed.
So what you are saying is that when I want to install one of the expansion packs, put that disk in, then also put in the rf6?
Or do I put in RF6 DVD to install the expansion packs?
Does it have an "install expansion pack" option?

A.You have to insert the RF6 disk again even though your RF6 is installed. Once the install option comes up take out the RF6 disk and then insert the expansion pack disk.

So how many people would have thought......ok, install RF6. Then, when I want to install my expansion packs, insert the RF6 DISK AGAIN FOR A SECOND....THEN TAKE IT OUT....THEN INSERT THE EXPANSION DISK TO INSTALL? Does that seem like something most people would figure out on their own?
Nope.
Just frustrating.
Kudos to the hobbico guy for getting me the right answers, but if they really want to do things right post that as a starting thread on the forum, or even better put it up on the knife edge sight on the front page and don't redirect us to hobbico. Never hurts to post something like this in a few places.
