Various full scale planes and droneshave the capability to fly and land without human input, that is not new.

I was wondering if somebody have ever tried building a RC model plane large enough to carry a person(passenger)and fly it from the ground? - or maybe from the plane itself?

If so, how would you design such a plane and what engine/radio gear would you use?
