Surprised you're not using the throttle cut or throttle hold feature in the DX-8, and for that matter nearly all the current radios. I hardly ever touch the trim now. All you have to do is activate throttle cut, set it to -5 to -10%, select a switch position to have it on. I use the Mix 1 position. Then when you power up the system in the model, turn on the throttle cut and it will arm the ESC. Flip throttle cut off and you now have your idle trim setting. No need to ever move the throttle trim.
