pic #1 shows the forward mounting of the carbon cooling shroud for the tailpipe. The shroud wll rest on the aft carry through former underneath.

pic #2 shows a look into the aft area of the jet with the tailpipe and cooling shroud installed.

pic #3 shows the aft shroud mount screw that holds and positions the shroud at the tailpipe opening. This is according to the plans. You will note the #2 button head screw on thr bottom of the model. This will hold the position of the shroud for now until I can finish up the inner tailpipe mounting in the shroud. At that time this mount will be all internal with access being through the nozzle opening and the screw will not exist on the completed model. Can't have any buttoin head screws on the outside of the model if at all possible.

pic #4 shows the wings attached to the carry through spars.

pic #5 shows the forward carry through spar in better detail. Here you will find the F-100 /F-86 wing bolt parts installed. These are much better than the stock F-4 parts of yester year. A quick call to BVM can get you these parts. They are very special 7075 T6 aluminum and cost about $100 a set for each model. There are a total of 20 aluminum parts for this mod. 10 non-threaded and 10 threaded for 10-32 bolts. I also added 2 extra 1/8 carbon plate spars to each forward and aft carry through bulkhead that lives in the fuselage (another $120 per aircraft). You can see where these have been ground down to ensure clearance of the bypass and cooling shroud. With the added 1/4 carbon plate the strength is massive and can handle any flying loads you might throw at it. There are a few of these flying like this and believe me, there is no issue at all in the strength department. A great upgrade for the Phantom!!
