About the bootloader its a software for the way for reading the pic name and  #. with its memory and flash locations. Without the booting software you cant read the pic and its no,. and the configuration bits and cant also programmed this chip..I also corrected your circuit for a pickup coil input
 for 4stroke firing .After programming you cant change/erase the boot software of the pic microcontroller.
