The only standard servos I trust are Airtronics and Futabas. Nothing wrong with JR, just expensive for an equivalent servo.
The Futaba 3001 might just be the best standard servo in the world...I think it can take more abuse, last longer, and work better than a high end Hitec. Airtronics is second best for servos in my mind. I have been using the same flight pack in 2 airplanes.
The first was a Seduction with about 100 flights. The control surfaces on this thing are HUGE and MG/Coreless servos are recommended. I went with my Airtronics standards...
Now I've got my Sledge with about 200 flights with the same flight pack...I've got all my end point adjustments set to 150% and am using every little bit on every surface. I do on every flight. They are beat on, slammed into the ground, soaked with fuel, and crashed. All of the originals are working GREAT and there has been no chance in performance. No more slop now than day one. They give ya big servo arms too!
All I can say about Hitec is, I wouldn't use them if they were free. I don't need to see or have any more crashed airplanes because of Hitec...
I'll put an Airtronics 94011 head to head with ANY Hitec servo that will take the challenge...
