Default KILL SWITCH, DO I HAVE A PROBLEM?

I recently bought a kill switch from rcexl. I hooked the kill switch to a switch that turns the power to the battery on and off.
The kill switch lights up to indicate that it is armed. No problem there. I am using a Spektrum DX8 transmitter. I originally
had the kill switch hooked up to the Aux 2 channel, but I couldn't get it to respond to off and on. Now I have the kill switch
hooked to the Aux3 {knob} channel of the receiver. I can now turn it on and off with the knob, but if I turn the transmitter
off the kill switch indicator light stays on. I was under the impression that if I turned off the transmitter the kill switch would
also turn off. I can't imagine that I have it wired wrong. Has anyone had this problem? Can someone show me a diagram
of how this should be wired with a switch? Thanks aframe2
