Not always,,

You must have the Failsafe set up like any other servo.
If you have it set to "Hold Last position" it will not turn off the Optikill,, it will hold it where it last was,, "On"

If you use JR/Spec. you want to rebind the RX with it in the off position on your TX,, If you use Futaba, set your failsafe within the TX

Hitec, Air??? not sure how those failsafes work


It's when you RX looses power it will turn off no matter what
