Hey everyone, I need some tuning help with a G3.0. I bought a new G3.0 for a MT2 roller I picked up recently. I'm not new brand new to tuning but I can't seem to get this motor to scream. It seems to run fine but it just won't run out like I think it should. I've seen several videos on youtube of this truck and they all seem to fly compared to mine. Right now my low speed is turned in about 3/4 from flush and giving me 3-4 seconds on the pinch. Not sure how far in my HSN is but I'm running between 220 and 235 degrees. I have a 14T clutch bell and 52T spur running factory wheels and tires. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Where are you running it at? I know it may sound dumb but sometimes it's all about perception. If you run an MT2 in a big open parking lot it'll feel pretty slow, especially once it's topped out. On a track or a dirt lot it'd feel like it was flying.
I've had several MT2's in several different configurations, and I personally think it's a little slow in stock form. A 2 speed out of an RS4 will help a lot.
Of course this is all assuming your engine is tuned right which it sounds like you can't be far off of.If you want a cheap, great dropi-in motor that WILL wake that thing up pick up an OS .18 CV-RX.
Thanks for the quick response. You might be right. I run around open dirt lots and backyards onto roads. It seems quick enough when it's in the grass and can spin its wheels a little keeping the revs up but when it's wide open it just seems like it need to run leaner. What plug do you run? I have a medium in it right now, should I maybe switch to a hot? Also this OS motor I"ve read about, for the money is it a very noticible difference or do I need scientific measuring devices to compare the two. For $150 I wanna see this thing run! If it's not going to give me that much more I'd rather put the cash into a third vehicle with a big block! Also the CV-RX, it's a short crank right? Do I need the old style flywheel and bell from the T motors or does the new style setup work?
