Mark, I'm glad you brought up the ''rolling loop''. There is a move afoot in the sequence committee to introduce it in the next/future Master's sequence. What a mistake! Most Master's flyers, that I know of, are not interested in ''bridging the gap'' to F3A. It's real easy, if you want to fly F3A, MOVE UP! Just please don't ask me to put my planes at risk just because you think it's best for all of us. Over these many years, I've seen more than my fair share of F3A pilots that would struggle to be competitive in the Advanced class let alone F3A! Let me take this a step further, I see there are plans in one of the first contests of 2012 here in D3 for all classes to fly 4 rounds of AMA/F3A and then 2 unknown rounds! This all sounds great on the surface until you introduce the specter of losing your 'prized'' pattern plane! NO THANKS, I'm not interested in yet another grand experiment or taking on additional risks just because you, the CD, thinks he either knows what's best for me or wants to make his contest more interesting! Let's see how many flyers will attend this contest! Any bets? Just my thoughts, Everette
Deep thoughts...

You shouldn't show that you'll have more pilots to settle a pissing match. Do it for the want to grow the hobby.

Unknowns are not hard. They fly them in Sportsman at IMAC contests, but they also have maneuvers in that sequence that are FAI-type (loop with integrated roll over top) as well.

Why do you have to win Advanced to move up to Masters to beat someone? That title isn't going to impress anybody in the chair, your flying skills will. Unless you can make gigantic strides in your flying between now and the Nats, the Nats isn't going to do anything for you as far as giving you the ability to win. Also, I'm going to pick on Everette's age a little bit because he's retired. It may cost me, but I think it's funny nonetheless.

A friend and coworker was going through A&P school. One of the instructors was up there in age, and most of the A&P students tend to be younger. One of them got into it with the instructor and made the comment that he was going to kick his ass. The instructor looked at him and said "So what? If you kick my ass, everybody will be like big deal, you kicked an old man's ass. But if I kick YOUR ass, you'll never live it down." You should want to do your best, not set a goal to beat someone just because.

If you want to set a goal that would be very meaningful, reconfirm at the NATS this year that you are the best d*** contest chef there is. That's impressive.
