Everything you said is correct. The inverted engines can be a handful at times.

The side mounted engines don't seem to be any more problem than a upright one.

You must observe the rule about keeping the tank center line at the spraybar level or in the case of a sideway's engine, the level of the tank must be centered with the carb venturi.
