I agree that Robarts were an improvement, but I have to agree with Zip that allowing a bit more throw would be nice.

As you said, though, it wouldn't be difficult to cut them, and most folks probably appreciate the time savings.

I'm guessing that buyers of this type of plane have all developed a personal preference for such things.
