Has anybody ever installed the Rx battery next to the engine for CG balancing (over, under)? Or is that too stressful to the battery?
I built a metal strap to hold receiver batteries on firewall just for that purpose! That will help to keep from adding weight. I put the foam wrapped battery in a plastic bag to help keep oil off.
