I am using 108oz, analog servos with steel gears. They are probably overkill. I have re-inforsed the dowel rod connection between the two elevator halves with a u-shaped piece of piano wire because I have had elevater halves break apart in flight. It's not a pretty site. Using this method has worked fine for me and I don't need the extra servo and pushrod, or the reverser.
