It'll work, you can pretty much easily fit any 1/10 scale brushless setup on these, it's just a matter of coming up with your own motor mount and setup for the rest of the truck. You can mount the motor on either side you want since it'll spin either way. If you do some research online you can find several pictures of different setups guys have done on these.
