I agree, I just started flying RC last spring, was interested in Racing to help me improve my flying and challenge myself. I flew my first successful 424 race last fall and I'm hooked. The big thing is confidence. I'm also going to fly EF1 this spring. I was lucky to have some guys pushing, you will damage or crash planes but with some help you will adjust and improve. You learn more by doing for sure. Lot's of stuff will be new to you. For the most part racing folks like to help, give advice and be supportive.
