Just have him fire it up, that's the main thing. If it starts decently and seems to run OK, that's more than half the battle.
You should be able to "recycle" a lot of parts from it as the radio system will be fine in another boat plus most other parts. Don't use the strut though as it really won't work well on any other boat.
