No not all 2.4 radios are digital. The only thing you need to be careful of is the trims. That is how some of the functions of the Tamiya electronics are set up. Some of these functions are easier with analog trims but can be done with digital. You just need to carefully read and understand the Tamiya and radio instructions. Many people here use both so someone will always be able to help you out.
You can also get a very nice 5 channel 2.4 radio. It is the Areo5 for around 50.00 dollars with receiver but i don't currently have a link to it. There are a couple of other good ones , just need to look around.
