I finally mounted my 900MHz 8dbi patch antenna from [link=http://www.bevrc.com/bev-09ghz-patch-antenna-p-116.html]BEV[/link] onto my camera tripod. To mount it, I simply added a 1/4-20 T-nut into a block of wood which mounts to the tripod. The other side uses the mating plate to the antenna. An [link=http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/360576-adapter-sma-plug-rpsma-jack-adp-smam-rpsf.html]SMA Female TO F Male Adapter[/link] was needed to connect the antenna to the 900MHz. receiver.
